The counters of the days scan the sky, the earth and the underworld. They observe the luminous stars, the clouds, the rain and the water that descends from the mount. They ask the deer and the scorpion, the shark and the cayman, the dog and the jaguar, and they register it all in the codices to understand the temperament of the gods.
And so, looking back, they know the future and can respond to our questions, knowing whether the days will favor us or not on our path to fulfillment of the Mayan Being.
Just as the ancient codices considered the passing of the days, this codex is “written” according to the unfolding of the game. Each turn influences the final result in some way, but the winners of the different Mayan ball games will contribute the greatest symbolic charge to the codex, placing on it the attributes of the deity that guards their path. When the XOC is finalized, this image will represent the Mayan Being, and together with the harvest, will reveal the response to the initial question.
